HERO are negotating special deals for participants to ship their cars to Rio de Janeiro from the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and other places. Our officially appointed shipping agents will handle all ticketing and paperwork, and will supervise loading and port handling, so as to make this an easy, painless task.

Shipping Type Shipping will be available from the UK, major European, and south-eastern USA ports. Transportation will be by 20ft or 40ft containers which will provide space for one or two normal cars respectively. Vehicles more than five metres long may have to use a 40ft container; vehicles over two metres high may require a high cube container - these may be subject to an extra charge.

Duration of voyage It is estimated that the crossing will take approximately 20 days from all UK and major European ports, and approximately 18 days from south-eastern USA ports. The suggested sailings will arrive at Rio about one week before the start, to allow for possible delays at sea. Participants who cannot immediately collect their vehicles will be able to leave them in port storage until one or two days before the start.

Cost It is not possible for our shipping agents to qoute exact figures so far in advance but we expect the round-trip charges to be in the order of £3000 for USA and European routes. Precise figures will be forwarded to all participants as they become available.
