SPIRIT OF THE RALLY AWARD � Reliability Trial

(48) Warren Chmura & Jean Chmura - Citroen DS

A broken drive shaft on the Saturday caused the car to have to be returned home to St Just in Cornwall (not far from Land�s End). Following repair on the Sunday the crew drove the car to Carlisle to rejoin the Rally on the Monday morning.

This was a last minute change of car from the A40 Farina originally entered. The car was bought for just �100 seven weeks before the event. A new set of brake pads and new carburettor mounts were the only new parts fitted before the event. Chris and Emma were always pushing ahead and always cheerful in the rain.
