Notes:

1. This information is believed correct at the time of writing. However, the onus is on you to ensure that you comply with immigration requirements, and we accept no liability for the consequence of any errors in this sheet or in other information supplied.
2. Nationals of the Irish Republic require a visa as well as special authorisation to enter Bolivia.
3. Ensure that you obtain a multiple entry visa, valid to cover (a) the number of times you have to enter each country during the event (see table above); and (b) the whole period of the event, plus any prolongation of your own stay - allow for possible delays through breakdown/emergency!
4. Bear in mind that most visas are valid for only 90 days, so you should not apply too early.
5. Describe the purpose of your visit as 'tourism' not 'sport' or 'business', as these visas are sometimes more restricted.
6. The cost of each visa is typically around £25-30.
7. Allow at least four weeks for each visa to be processed by mail. Go in person (or get an agency to help - although this will cost you) if you want to speed up the process.
8. Remember that in all or most cases, you will have to send your passport with your visa application. If you cannot do without it for this length of time, or if you want to make two applications simultaneously, you may be able to obtain a duplicate passport - UK citizens can do this.
9. For some countries, it is possible to obtain a visa on entry, but we advise against this unless you are prepared for significant delays. Nationals of the USA, Canada and Australia entering Chile for touristic purposes will be charged a processing fee payable on arrival and in cash only; for nationals of the USA the fee is US$45, for nationals of Canada, the fee is US$55 and for nationals of Australia the fee is US$30.
